Embracing the Waves

I have a friend who is so close to my heart that she might as well be considered a part of it. She teaches me, by steadfast example, that all is well regardless of what is placed in the deep reservoirs and wellsprings of our lives. She was recently given a cancer diagnosis, along with prescriptions for surgery, chemo and radiation. What she did with these things is not surprising. She gathered them up, dipped them in light, and shared them with others like holy water for those who thirst. By the time her surgery was scheduled, she had formed a healing circle of physicians, nurses, technicians and aides and taught them the healing gifts of Reiki and energy work as a therapeutic service. This was not so much a teaching to benefit her own outcomes, but to benefit theirs by dipping them all in the holy wellsprings of faith and grace.

Lives were transformed by the waves of light she shared so freely with others. Hearts were uplifted and carried to safer shores for the benefit of all. With a cascading ripple effect.

I had a recent and long awaited doctors appointment suddenly cancelled on the day I was supposed to arrive. There would have been a diagnosis. And prognosis. And a list of things prescribed and advised. So I gathered myself up and headed to the primal physician and the watery womb where all realms meet. I went to the water’s edge. As prescribed by my heart.

As I sat in awe of the shoreline and the skyline and the winged things and the waves, an alchemy of connection appeared before my eyes. Translucent and shimmering.

The lake sent forth cascades of waves. Like children being taught how to swim. Each time a wave would hit the shore, it would recede instantaneously back into the enfolding arms of the water from which it had come. Within the very same wavelength of time, the mother waters would cover the body of the shoreline and gather her children back into herself. This all occurred in the blink of an eye and the beat of a heart. No separation ever truly occurred. The waves were sent forth in energetic exhilaration for the adventure and experience. And yet they were forever connected to the mother and the source, in waves of light that extended her body. Rippling forth upon the grateful shore.

We are all of us made of particle and wave. We dance on each other’s shoulders and shorelines in energetic ebb and flow.

Oh, May we wave in shades of Love that whisper only:“Welcome Home .”                                                                     “You’re not alone.”                                                                    “We move as One.”                                                            “Beloved children of the In Breath, exhaled here, for but a moment , as we dance beneath the setting Sun.”
